HHH offers a variety of TESOL courses to meet the needs and future goals of native and non-native speakers. They are highly practical and designed for people wanting to teach English as a second language to adults in Australia or overseas.
All courses provide an introduction to the theory and practice of English language teaching and an insight into the challenges facing the learner and the role of the teacher. The HHH course trainers are highly qualified and experienced TESOL, General English and IELTS professionals.
The Certificate IV in TESOL is registered by the Australian National Training Authority.
Course Descriptions
In keeping with HHH¡¯s international reputation for excellence in preparing learners for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam, this course focuses on developing skills for teachers of IELTS exam preparation courses. The IELTS test is recognised worldwide and an IELTS score is required for entry to many universities in Australia and overseas. In this course participants have the opportunity to learn from highly experienced IELTS teaching professionals. Students can select from the following:

2. Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
for Non-Native Speakers

TESOL - General English
These courses are designed to give you all the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to be an effective English language teacher in a variety of teaching contexts. Students can select from the following:
1. Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
for Native Speakers
2. Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
for Non-Native Speakers

Course Pre-requisites
All applicants will be required to undertake a language task prior to an interview. The interview will:
- Inform applicants about the course.
- Assess the suitability of the applicant for the course
- Assess the suitability of the course for the applicant¡¯s career plans.
Preference will be given to candidates employed or likely to be employed in the TESOL field.
Program Information
All courses follow an integrated curriculum approach and include:
- Tutorials and workshops
- Supervised lesson planning
- Observation of teaching of peers and experienced teachers
- Teaching practice with peers and real learner groups
- Feedback
- Mentoring and coaching
Assessment
There is no final examination, however assessment is integrated into the course and is based on written assignments, lesson observations, lesson preparation, teaching practice, reflection and evaluation of teaching. Participants will also be required to collect a portfolio of all this evidence.
